General News · 21st August 2017
Dear Islanders and guests,
Please read the ‘Cortes Forestry General Partnership – Update August 17’ announcement on the Tideline. If you don’t click through to their website, the revised plans are not readily apparent.
The new plan for fall 2017 is to begin logging the Carrington Operating area, starting with road construction and right of way logging near the trail head.
There are tours/consultations scheduled for Tuesday Aug 22 at 4pm and Sunday Aug 27 at 10am, and they are asking people to meet at the parking lot to the Carrington trail/Children’s Forest. If you care about this, please attend.

Tell me there will be further discussions/ forums for public input towards the mass "harvest" of this magestic wilderness ?
There will be many who can not voice their concerns on either of these public "engagement platforms".
Tell me that logging in Carrington deserves more than these two "showings".
