The B.C. Cetacean Sightings Network is conducting The Northern Strait Cetacean Census (
www.cetaceancensus.ca) in your area over the August Long Weekend (August 5-7 2017) and we need your help!
As you may be aware, the Sightings Network collects opportunistic sightings from observers across the B.C. coast throughout the year for conservation-based research. This year, additionally, we are conducting a concentrated citizen science census-style effort over one weekend in the Northern Strait of Georgia (from French Creek/Madeira Park to northern Quadra Island).
Whether you are observing by boat or land, we encourage you to get involved. Participate in the Northern Strait Cetacean Census this August 5-7, and let us know what you have seen!
Register your involvement here (
www.cetaceancensus.ca) to stay included in limited pre-event and post-event communications.
