CORTES DAY is almost here and the whole island is invited to join in the fun on Saturday July 15th!
It all starts with a BIG PARADE -- King Karl and Queen Trude want to
see your Floats, Clowns, Decorated cars, trucks and bikes, Horses,
Goats… everything and anything! Parade assembles 10:30am on
Potlatch Road. Kids, 10:30 on Smelt Bay Road. Contact Lori Ann at

Then there’s the Nail Sail and Bail event. Two or three person teams
have three hours to build a boat and then race it around a course. You
can register with Captain Luke at 250-203-6106.
And don’t forget the Chicken Poop contest! A true Cortes tradition.
Choose your squares early at just 2 bucks a square. As soon as the
squares are all sold, the chicken will be released and soon after
someone walks away with $544!
The Queen Trude cake raffle will follow Nail Sail & Bail
Plus lots of good food, live music, games and races for kids and lots
