Come out and join the fun this coming Sunday, May 28th, for the 1st Annual Emergency Preparation Fair. There is something for the whole family to enjoy from a fabulous Chili Cookoff with great prizes, to learning tons about keeping our communities safe, lots of experts and ideas flowing. We didn't forget the kids either and hope to see a big turnout of smiling, wild Cortes kids. Check out the schedule below as there are lots of activities to choose from. All ages welcome! Kids Activity Line-up:
11:00-12:00: "Meet the Paramedic and Tour the Ambulance"
Do you know how many different kinds of lights and sirens an ambulance has? What about the difference between a chaircot and a clamshell? Try to find the sound of your heartbeat with a stethoscope and learn about vital signs. Join us for an hour of first aid and hands on exploration!
12:00-1:00: "Safety Relay Races" featuring games that hone in skills like cooperation, focus, speed, and fun. Crutch races, tug-of-war, water balloon toss, and more!
1:00-2:00: "Kids Fitness" Join martial arts instructor Wilfred Betz as he shows us some cool self-defense moves. Get your heart rate beating and feel strong and healthy. All ages welcome, please wear loose clothing.
2:00-3:00: "Burn, baby burn" Come out and meet some of our awesome firefighters and tour the fire trucks. Learn how fire extinguishers work by trying one out, lets see if you can knock down those safety cones. Having a blast while learning some fire safety skills.
3:00-4:00: "Rescue Obstacle Course" Test your speed, strength, and smarts. We are setting up a warriors course meant to test your limits. Jump hurdles, belly crawl, sprint top speed to rescue the dummy. Save the day!
We also have giant Hamster balls, in case you have ever wanted to empathize with a hamster! FUN! FUN! FUN!
