Upon completion of the expansion and upgrades to the Gorge Harbour parking areas, parking will no longer be permitted along Robertson Rd. below the Gorge Hall. In order to provide emergency service and road maintenance vehicles with safe and reliable access to the government dock and surrounding properties, we request all dock users park in the upper lot, located on the east side of Robertson Rd, south of the Gorge Hall. A 15 min loading and unloading area and 2 stalls for those with handicapped designations and other mobility issues will be created next to the wharf head. To ensure fair and adequate parking for our facility users, the storage of boat trailers and other personal effects in the parking areas will not be allowed, except with the prior approval of the Harbour Authority.
In addition to the parking upgrades, the HACI is pleased to announce we have received funding to install three Solar powered lights for the Gorge dock. Their installation is primarily for the safety of dock users. The lights have a defined footprint and will only illuminate a long narrow bean along the walkways and boat ramp. Called a “dark sky” lamp, they only shine directly downward, preventing excess light pollution and the disruption of nocturnal wildlife.
We thank you for your patience during our facility upgrades. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Harbour Authority at 250-935-0007 or hacimgrgmail.com
