Campbell David Leggatt, affectionately known as "Cam", passed away peacefully on January 17, 2017 at Yucalta Lodge in Campbell River, BC at the age of 89.

Cam was a retired plumber who moved to Cortes 35 plus years ago and built his own home in the Gorge. He loved being on the water, had boats all his life and was an avid reader, particularly liking Canadian history and politics. He always had his large white lab with him and many locals will remember Cam by his trips to Campbell Rive with his “barking” dog in the car with him!

Cam is fondly remembered by his friends Gerry and Marie Cooper. As Cam's young apprentice, Gerry Cooper has many memories from his long years of friendship.
He met Cam in 1957 when he started as an apprentice while working for J & F Plumbing and Heating. Their friendship continued through the years with a holiday to Mexico, many Christmas visits with Cam bringing fresh oysters over from his home on Cortes Island. He is remembered as a good friend.

His family still resides in Vancouver and Alberta.

There will be a private service for Cam with the surviving family members at a later date.
