Thank you for your response. I am forwarding your 2 emails to Laurel Bohart who has just taken on the position of substituting for Sandra Wood temporaritly. But, be assured I do not believe the voices of the community have been adequately considered. Thank you again.

I just sent a reply to Sandy Hoffman that answers most of your questions. Specifically relating to your questions about the co-op membership, these plans have been announced for a couple of months now, and I can assure you that the boards have both heard and discussed members' input.
Many people are very supportive of logging to support the local mills, while some people object. It's hard to have everything be perfect.
The thing is, we need to supply our local mills, and until we have had time to do the proper planning we can't just rush out and build new logging roads somewhere else to go logging.
This is going to be a very small selective harvest, with a low impact, and we are going to try and leave the area looking better than when we started.
I very much acknowledge that it's unfortunate for the neighbour in Squirrel Cove that there is going to be activity again in your neighbourhood so soon, and at the same time we are going to do our best to balance all of the values of the island as a whole.

There is more going on here than "just road maintenance, as the title suggests". I sent Mark Lombard a letter Jan. 31, & look forward to a response.
