Writers took over the Museum and united to entertain!
With some exhibits moved aside, a relaxing afternoon was enjoyed on November 20th by a near capacity gathering at the Cortes Museum for a variety of prose and poetry readings from local authors. These ever-more popular Literary Afternoons are a joint venture with the Museum and Seniors Helping Seniors, co-ordinated by Carina Verhoeve. The interesting writings of Monica Nawrocki, Joan Bevington, Oriane Lee Johnston, Stephen Moyse and Dayna Davies were most entertaining. Refreshments afterwards included sweets with tea and coffee served in the Museum's collection of antique china cups. After choosing a favourite cup and saucer, participants lingered to chat with friends.

Not just for seniors, these Literary Afternoons are advertised on the Museum website, Tideline and the Seniors' monthly newsletter. Mark your calendar for the next Literary Afternoon on Sunday, January 22, 2017, 2 – 3:30 p.m. at the Cortes Museum.
