On Wednesday, November 2 at the Gorge Hall, 6-8 PM, The Cortes Island Transportation Study will be holding a community open house meeting to introduce our work.
The study has been initiated by the Strathcona Regional District and is being carried out by local residents Kate Maddigan and Max Thaysen, in partnership with Jason Potter from Bunt & Associates Engineering.
The study is intended to increase our understanding of our transportation habits and needs and to identify initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
At this initial meeting, we will have information about the way we're doing the study, what we've learned so far, some background information about transportation on Cortes, and our transportation survey for residents. And we would like to hear from you: ideas about the process, places to look for key pieces of information, interesting programs to investigate etc.
Come on out. We'll have refreshments. Kids welcome. Driving? Consider posting on
www.cortesrideshare.ca. You can also submit your comments and questions to cortes.transpo.studygmail.com. And look out for our articles here on the tideline, cortesisland.com.
surveys will be online and available for pickup.
