Just in time for the ShakeOutBC countdown, CBC Vancouver has launched its first original podcast titled Fault Lines, which explores the implications of a massive, devastating earthquake predicted to hit coastal British Columbia.

Use this educational series as a conversation starter with people, organizations or businesses that haven’t yet registered for the “drop, cover and hold on” drill Oct. 20.

It includes some great scientific and preparedness information, as well as a lot of inspiration to get earthquake-ready.

Here are a few other reminders as we head into the final stretch:

· Register, register, register: Go to to ensure your family, business or organization is counted for the 2016 drill. Remember, if you enrolled last year, you need to renew.
· Spread the word: ShakeOutBC’s social media channels have been getting great engagement this year. Join the conversation by chatting with us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. If you’re new to social media, just follow the ShakeOutBC Social Media Guide, which is full of cut-and-paste content and graphics.
· If you list it, they will come: If your drill is open to the public and/or media, submit the event to the ShakeOutBC Calendar.
