Friends of Cortes Island Helen
Friends of Cortes invites you to join bat expert Dr Purnima Govindarajula for a fascinating evening learning about bats. Friday July 15 7.30pm Linnaea Farm Education Centre.

The evening is in two parts:

Purnima will start with a talk about bats, their biology, threats they face and how you can help protect them. She will also highlight how you can take part in a new citizen science project to monitor bats on Cortes.

The talk will be followed by an optional bat watch at a local roost site, where you will be able to see bats emerging from their roost and listen in on bat chatter with acoustic detectors.

So, if you have ever wanted to know more about these amazing creatures – this is your chance to go batty!

Talk starts at 7.30pm Linnaea Farm Education
Centre. The bat watch will start around 9pm.

If you wish to join us for the bat watch, please bring transport – we will be driving to the roost site, which is approx 20 mins from Linnaea.
