The Old School House Gallery opened the 2016 season with New Beginnings: ceramics and papercuts, a show by Melanie Boyle and her partner Sadashi Inuzuka, a retired professor from the University of Michigan, U.S.A. A crowd of art enthusiasts at Friday night’s opening, and a stream of visitors during the gallery’s extended hours for the Creative Spaces tour on Sunday enjoyed meeting the Mystery face to face.
This is art that reveals itself while explaining nothing. Art that manifests in shadow as much as in form. Art that creates elegant drama from the earthy simplicity of paper and clay. And yet remains earthy and simple.
New Beginnings continues Sunday, June 26 from 2-6pm and also the following weekend, July 2 and 3, 2–6 pm. Join Sadashi and Melanie for an artist’s talk on Friday, July 1st at 7 pm at the Gallery.
