On May 14th, 2016 Quadra RCMP conducted a road check on Cortes Island. Police issued a 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) to a person who provided breath samples that were in excess of the legal limit. Police then issued a 3 day Immediate Roadside prohibition (IRP) to a person who provided breath samples that were in the warning range.

On May 13th, 2016 Quadra RCMP received a report of a stolen bronze boat anchor stolen from outside of a boat house on West road. The anchor is approximately 80-90lbs and has a stainless steel pin.

On May 15th, 2016 Quadra RCMP received a report of mischief at the Quadra Island Harbour Authority Heriot Bay parking lot. Unknown person(s) smashed the drivers side window on a SUV and then proceeded to pour a foul smelling liquid all over the interior of the vehicle.

On May 15th, 2016 Quadra RCMP stopped a vehicle for having no insurance and learned that the driver was prohibited from driving. The vehicle was impounded and the driver received a violation ticket for no insurance. Charges of driving while prohibited will be forwarded to Crown Counsel.

Quadra RCMP is looking for tow truck drivers on Quadra and Cortes Island that can be called upon to assist in a variety of situations. The RCMP is not looking for a commitment but just wants to have a list of contacts in case of emergencies.
