Blossoms has been making chocolate on Cortes Island for 10 years. It arose from the inspiration and appreciation for how the body responds to plant medicine. What started as a sweet tooth became an understanding of the healing powers of cacao and it's ability to offer medicine in the form of decadent raw desserts.
Blossoms offers an array of different bars, truffles, nut cream bars, and ice cream. All Raw, dairy free, Organic, and sweetened with coconut nectar or local honey to be low glycemic and feed the body high quality nutrients.
The cacao originates from the rainforest of Ecuador. I have collaborated with a organization that works with small communities to help them grow and thrive through small hand harvest collections of trees grown for thousands of years in the rainforest. These trees have a lineage and are not from plantations. They are lovingly hand harvested and left to ferment in the Sun, to become a probiotic.
Keeping Cacao in it's raw state allows these live enzymes to thrive and survive, and therefore become high quality healing digestive enzymes for the body as well as fuel for our minds. Theobromine and anandamide are neurotransmitters available in raw cacao that connect brain cells to the healing centers of the body. They are responsible for the immune system and nervous system to respond, repair and thrive .
