Your Ferry Advisory Committee has been working diligently to try and adjust the ferry schedule which was instituted last spring. It has become obvious that the schedule is not working and needs to be changed. The committee, along with some members of the communities met with BC Ferries staff and outlined the problem areas. BCF went back and reworked the schedule and offered us three options. The FAC reached a consensus on which one of these addressed the problem areas in the most optimal way.

The new schedule would give us back the 6:15pm sailing from CR, would eliminate the mid day gap in sailings and would keep the late night sailing on Friday and Saturday nights. It also most closely resembles the old schedule, except for the weekend. The negatives are that we lose 10 minutes off the last sailing during the week and the schedule is different on the weekend.

Option 2B is the schedule the FAC is suggesting will work the best. Option 2A is the way the schedule would look if it were the same 7 days a week. The FAC needs to hear from the communities on this proposal before we make a recommendation to BC Ferries. We have scheduled a meeting for Jan. 14th at 7pm at the Quadra Community Centre. We will present all three options and listen to your questions and comments. In the meantime, if you have questions or comments, or cannot attend, please contact the chair of the FAC, Paul Ryan at 285-3896 or email
