Bursary funds – made possible through the Coastal Community-Quadra Credit Union Legacy Fund – are available to current members and the children of current members of the Quadra Island Community Branch. Applicants must be grade 12 high school graduates or mature students planning post-secondary education.

Amounts awarded will be determined on the recommendations of the Quadra Community Connection Council based on a consideration of financial need, academic success, employment history, extracurricular activities, evidence of community involvement, and number of applications received and approved.

Applications must be received at the Quadra Island Community Branch or online at by July 31, 2014 at 5:00pm. Successful applicants will be notified by mail and funds will be mailed directly to the educational institution of your choice upon commencement of the educational program. Final bursary decisions and distributions will be made at the sole discretion of Coastal Community Credit Union. Applications can also be submitted by mail, fax or email.

In completing this application, please observe the following:
1. Type or print in ink.
2. Attach
•Photocopy of your most recent academic, technical or vocational records
•Two letters of reference - one from a teacher or professor, and one from a volunteer or work experience supervisor
•A personal statement of approximately 100 words outlining your special interests, awards, projected course of study, financial circumstances, or any other subject which may be of help to the Community Connection Council in considering your application.

Funds awarded must be used within eight months of receipt
•Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
•All applications become the property of Coastal Community Credit Union and will not be returned to the applicants. In consideration of the confidential information obtained through this program, Coastal Community will keep all Information obtained in this application confidential and not disclose or permit disclosure of all or any portion of such Information to any person, except as otherwise expressly stated for the purpose of the Curly Eastland Bursary Program.

•The deadline for the Curly Eastland Bursary is July 31, 2014.
