Re: Unauthorized harvesting on Woodlot # 090 Cortes Island

Klahoose First Nation grows very concerned with the constant harvesting of marketable timber from Woodlot #090 located on Cortes Island, BC.

Obvious evidence of theft and unauthorized construction of secondary roads causing damage to newly planted seedlings have left Klahoose no choice but to take action.

Equipment and cable have been left behind at the scene where the most recent harvest has taken place.

The public should be warned that if you are purchasing illegally cut wood you can face the same consequences as the person who is harvesting and causing the damage.

Klahoose First Nation strives to maintain good relationships with its neighbors and we hope the same respect can be reciprocated to us before any further destruction takes place.
