At our AGM on Sunday, Friends of Cortes Island had the privilege of presenting the Jo-Ann Green Environmental Award to two very worthy recipients, Christine and Cec Robinson!

This recognition is awarded to people who have made significant contributions to the environmental well-being of the community.

Cec and Christine have both worked tirelessly on behalf of the forests of Cortes. Christine, through her commitment to the formation of the Children's Forest Trust and Cec, who has taken many Islanders and visitors into the forest to raise awareness about the importance of our local ecosystem and watersheds. Cec and Christine have both been active in Streamkeeping as well, spending many days and weekends monitoring the fish and fry habitat in Cortes creeks. They have also both been involved in the eco-mapping project for a number of years. Christine and Cec are humble in their dedication to sustaining the health and well-being of our local environment and we are proud to present them with the 2013 Jo-Ann Green Environmental Award.

Thank you to all who attended our AGM on Sunday. We appreciate your membership and on-going support.
