Klahoose First Nation will be hosting a workshop on the dangers of crystal meth and would like to invite anyone from the Cortes community to come and attend this informative workshop. The event is scheduled to take place at the Band hall on Monday Oct 23 from 10.00-3.00pm. Lunch will be provided so please RSVP.

Pierre Morais who is giving the workshop is an addiction counsellor who specializes in crystal meth. He has been in this field for over 10 years and currently the co-chair of the BC Association of Social Worker's Provincial Addiction Committee. He is also the project coordinator for the City of Duncan's crystal meth program and runs the “Scared Straight Tours” through Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. During the workshop Pierre will explain why crystal meth is so dangerous and how devastating it is. His presentation will include stories, pictures and videos of his tours in Vancouver. The whole event promises to be very informative and captivating.
