It appears that after many years of oversight Canada Post has decided to designate Squirrel Cove as a "remote" destination. Certain online retailers, like Amazon (but likely others as well) who consult the remote destination registry before quoting shipping charges to Cortes may now charge more than previously. This is true of packages only (not letter mail). For reference Mansons Landing and Whaletown were already included in the remote destination registry.
