We were glad to have 35 people attend our open house at the Cortes Island Food Bank earlier this month! We would like to give a big thank you to those who came, to the Cortes Foundation for making it possible with a Neighbourhood Microgrant, and to Sunflower Foods for providing delicious snacks. We’re proud of what we have built so far, with our choice based pantry model, and our new roof to connect the two shipping containers and give us a more functional outdoor space. It was a pleasure to share what we’re up to, and we hope to continue to increase accessibility and visibility in the community, while decreasing the stigma around using the food bank.
