Cortes Literacy Outreach
New Funding is In! You are invited to help decide how to spend it!

After the scare earlier this year about announced provincial literacy cuts (that later luckily didn't happen), it is wonderful to say that our new funding is in.

The Cortes Literacy Task Group is meeting this week to figure out how we will use the funding. Please feel free to join us this Wednesday the 18th, at 1 pm. Contact Susanna for more meeting details such as location:

Join us on Facebook

If you haven't already connected with us on Facebook, feel free to send a friend request to Cortes Lit. Thanks to all of you who have already connected with us there! It's a great way to share links to literacy news and contests from further afield.

Upcoming Adult Writing Workshop

There have been a few requests for this, and we are moving ahead with it, now that the weather has changed again. Expect some details here soon... the workshop will be sometime in October.

Strathcona Food Security Project this Fall

Just a heads up that VIHA and North Island College are working together to develop a Food Security Action Plan for the Strathcona Regional District. Part of this project will include a public survey on Food Security, which you can look for a link to here when it is available.

In the meantime, see the PDF attached at the bottom of this post if you'd like to read the FAQ sheet about the project.

... and lastly, over in Comox:
