Services
The Harbour Authority of Cortes Island manages five locations, Cortes Bay, Squirrel Cove Dock, Gorge Harbour Government Dock, Manson's Landing Dock and Whaletown Dock.
All provide safe well-maintained moorage facilities for a wide-ranging group of marine users year round. Each is surrounded by a small community providing plenty of services (except Cortes Bay which has no service) and many things to see and do. Cortes Bay Dock is located on the southeast side of Cortes Island, near the entrance to Desolation Sound. Nearby is Blind Creek boat launch (Regional District).
Squirrel Cove Dock is situated next to the Squirrel Cove Store, on the east side of Cortes. Toilets, showers, laundry and a grocery store and post office are within walking distance at the Squirrel Cove Store.
Gorge Harbour Government Dock is located in the beautiful Gorge Harbour. Toilets, showers, laundry and a grocery store are within walking distance at the Gorge Harbour Marina.
Manson’s Landing Dock sits in the Manson’s Landing Provincial Park, on the west side of Cortes Island. A grocery store, café and community hall are located in Manson’s Landing, a 15 minute walk from the dock.
Whaletown Government Dock is found across from the BC ferries terminal in Whaletown Bay, on the western side of Cortes Island. The Whaletown post-office is located at the head of the dock.
