Miss the simpler times?
W7 is still useable in that MS update gives Edge if you want to use it for web browsing.
Lately I've been installing MyPal browser to win 7 installations.
If you just use a computer for browsing reading or videos online 7 is certainly still viable
as is 8.1,10
I can install/build clean new fresh activated versions of all including 11 generally for ~$100.
Upgrade your current OS files and settings to 11 is also very doable even on older machines.
If your old machine had/has win7x64 originally or a later OS you can install and run w11.

Some Vista machines are suitable for win7 OS.

I also build Navigation PCs and if you have a win 7 or newer laptop this is the cheapest way to get into Navigation GPS. I have the charts and software to add to your existing system or build from scratch.

The older BU353 GPS pucks that were very popular work in all environments however MS wants to update the driver on 8/10/11 rendering the puck useless..unless you know to hold the driver back to about v3.4 then it works fine.
There is a newer GLONASS USB GPS unit now that is inexpensive.

Also interested in old machines and hardware you are discarding. I repair and put back into use what I can and generally hold onto what I can't repair for parts for future builds while hoping to keep ewaste out of air and landfills.
