After a full page was published yesterday in the Times Colonist calling the government to task, Cortes Island and the efforts to curb the damage which Industrial Forestry does to local communities is back in the news. The Discovery Islands Marine Tourism Group succinctly calls our home "one of the most beautiful places on earth threatened by outdated forestry practices".
Ralph Keller (on Read Island), Mike Moore (on Cortes) and others in the group are fielding calls today from national news outlets including the Globe and Mail and CTV News as the story goes national. A new video featuring their campaign has been produced by Vancouver filmmaker Daniel J. Pierce. You can
watch the video here.
Thanks to Mike, Ralph, Dan and all the others who are getting the word out for the protection of local jobs and businesses.
