Do you have a stream bed with clay on your property? This fall at Cortes Island Academy we’re going to be working with wild Cortes clay! We hope to go on a clay harvesting adventure next Monday to carefully and respectfully harvest a ball of clay per student (about 12 students). We’ll harvest where the clay is most cleanly exposed so as not to disrupt plant life and stream ecology. CIA places our island as both campus and curriculum and it would be a very special thing to get to sculpt from our local clay :) Email reply
