The Strathcona Regional District’s Emergency Program and Friends of Cortes Island Society would like to invite you to this field tour at Kw’as Park. Come prepared to be outside with a sturdy pair of shoes. We will meet in the Pioneer Room at Manson’s Hall at 3:30pm and begin with an indoor presentation.

The Benefits of Beavers information session teaches that coexistence with beavers can aid in protecting wildlife habitats, save community resources, and help solve problems related to drought, flooding, and infrastructure damage. Non-lethal, co-existence methods can be used to help manage beaver activities. Low impact strategies that will be covered during workshops include pond levellers and beaver exclusion fencing.
This session will be facilitated by professionals from Van Isle Wetlands & Rewilding Water and Earth Inc.

Professional Childcare will be offered at Mansons Hall Playschool during the Field Tour.
