Notices, Workshops & Rides: Produce Home Delivery
During the absence of farmer’s markets on the island, I am considering setting up a home delivery service for local vegetables, fruits, herbs and seedlings. I am new to the island and moved here for its values of food security and resiliency, which seem more pertinent now than ever. I am establishing gardens at Reef Point Farm and am hoping to contribute towards the robust sustainability already established in this community by growing food using ethical and regenerative practices.
As we navigate the changes in our lives, I am curious if there is an interest in a weekly box of produce, of a set value, being delivered to individual homes. Seedlings of edible and medicinal plants would also be available throughout the season. Commonly known as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), this model can continue to connect the community with local nutrition and help support local production as we transition with the changes in the world. Seeds only grow when they’re buried in the dirt and struggle for the light to thrive and transform.
