Notices, Workshops & Rides: social distancing vs physical distancing
This from Slow Factory:
"The term "social distancing" is currently being used by doctors epidemiologists, and gov officials to encourage people to reduce close contact with eachother in order to stop the spread of COVID. However, "physical distancing" is a more appropriate term to use when speaking about the necessary practices we are taking to protect each other from spreading COVID. It recognizes that although we are physically apart, we are committed to maintaining strong social contact in order to support our community and each other. Remaining socially connected in times of quarantine and physical distancing helps to avoid feelings of isolation, loneliness, and depression." Many of us are not on Facebook, but most of us have a phone. So pick up the phone and call your neighbour. Don't be shy. And thanks to those who have called me to check-in.
