Raffle tickets for this gorgeous work of art will be available on Cortes Day at the Cortes Museum booth. This original quilt, hand made by Diane Elliott, features near life-sized representations of all the provincial flowers of Canada. Drawing inspiration from life, travel plates or reference books, Diane used ornamental needlework such as hand appliqué as well as hand and silk ribbon embroidery to create the wonderful array of blooms. The quilt can be viewed at the Cortes Museum.
Tickets, costing one for $5 or five for $20, are also available at the Museum Shop, 957 Beasley Road, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The draw date is September 1 at the Cortes Island Museum, 1:30 p.m.
