Jobs & For Hire: Wild Cortes Volunteer Recruitment
Hello members, friends, neighbours and fellow island dwellers. Wild Cortes, at Linnaea Farm, has been growing into something more wonderful and fascinating this year. The ECOlab is now full swing with the new stereoscope and various Discovery Boxes full of nature to delve into. There are interesting new exhibits and Laurel Bohart, our local taxidermist, has added yet another songbird to the collection.
The Cortes Wild partnership is looking for volunteers to host Wild Cortes this summer with hopes to keep the doors open more frequently. Currently the exhibits and ECOlab are open Saturdays from 10am - 2pm. Our Saturday volunteer, Laurel Bohart (the taxidermist), would love company on some of those dates and we would like to open at least one more day each week. If you are available and interested for one day per week throughout July and August, we will train you and support you to become a Wild Cortes Host. If you have odd days that you want to volunteer we can work with that too.
Please reply by email if you are interested. If you would prefer to call, phone the Cortes Island Museum at 250 935 6340 and leave a message for Jane Newman. Thanks in advance.
