Notices, Workshops & Rides: Beware - Be aware
It has been brought to my attention that early last week, someone knocked on an elders door early in the am (maybe around 6am) in Whaletown and after not having an answer knocked again but was gone when the door was opened. This was followed by a strange phone call, apparently looking for someone but hanging up when the elder tried to get more information. A neighbour also had a similar experience.
This pattern is deeply concerning and completely inappropriate. Some have suggested that it is a practiced way to 'case' a home.
I encourage anyone having had the same experience to call the police (non-emergency line).
To the person that knocked, it is my opinion that 6 am is an not an appropriate time to approach an elders home without notice....maybe even most homes.
