Boxing Day on Cortes Island usually ends with a launch of the festival of lights from Smelt Bay and Manson's Landing. Although not well publicized, this year was not exception. The weather conditions were ideal, with offshore breezes and calm conditions. Innovative designs and superior engineering were in evidence as the illuminated crafts sailed off toward Marina Island, without loosing light or capsizing. Kama Ringwood's craft seen here showed exceptional skill in artistry and construction.
