Dear Community,
Last August, we invited you to help name our new village at Rainbow Ridge—and you responded with an incredible 94 entries!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and shared their ideas. Special thanks as well to our advisory panel—Rick Bockner, Marnie Andrews, and Dayna Davis—who thoughtfully reviewed the submissions and made their recommendations to our board.
We’re delighted to announce the winning name: Robinsong Village
The name honours our beloved community leader, Siobhan Robinsong, who recently passed away, and celebrates the lasting impact she had on our community.
It also beautifully connects with the land and the future of Rainbow Ridge. As our community orchard and gardens grow and flourish, they will provide habitat for robins and other wildlife for many years to come.
We look forward to watching Robinsong Village take root and become a vibrant part of our community.
And congratulations to Sandra Wood for suggesting the winning name!
“Whether it was raising a family, co-founding Hollyhock, starting Canada's largest non-audition choir, or breathing new life into a Mozambican village, the essence of Siobhan's life was making people feel safe, welcome and at home. Her family is honoured to have her name on a project that will provide that feeling of hearth and heart for future residents of Rainbow Ridge.” -Bill Weaver
