Hello Fellow Islanders,
The (Cortes Island Community Foundation) (Quadra Island Community Foundation) is a partner in Communities Talking 9https://ruralislandspartnership.ca/communities-talking/) — a community economic development pilot project here on Cortes and Quadra. We're writing to let you know about a short announcement coming up, and to invite you to learn more.

During October 6, DIG – Learning Event, 9 AM – 4:30 PM the Communities Talking Project focused on Cortes and Quadra will be featured in a brief overview. It's a chance to hear, first-hand, about an impactful, publicly funded project taking shape in our own community.

What is Communities Talking? It's an initiative of the Rural Islands Economic Partnership (RIEP), funded by the Ministry of Jobs and Economic Growth through the Rural Economic Diversification & Infrastructure Program (REDIP). At its heart is a community-informed socio-economic dashboard for each pilot island — a practical, accessible tool that brings established data together with the lived realities of island life, so that local voices and opportunities actively shape the decisions that matter most.
For (Cortes) (Quadra) organizations and community members, this means evidence you can use: to advocate for local funding, support emerging sectors, foster local job creation, and attract investment that aligns with local priorities. And it's built on a simple principle — communities manage their own information, shared and used on their own terms.
We invite you to register for a demo to learn more about how this new tool can help your organization and our community. To register use the link below the post.

With thanks,
