Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude to Deborah for creating the Harvesting Gratitude festival and working so hard to bring so many people together in such a beautiful way last Saturday.

This past June, the DeathCare Collective invited the community to Bringing Death Home. As we reflected on the past year, someone in the audience asked, “How are you doing with fundraising?” Our honest answer was, “Not very well. That’s something we could use some help with.”

Deborah heard that and dreamed up Harvesting Gratitude as a gift to the community and a fundraiser for the DeathCare Collective. We are beyond grateful.

The DeathCare Collective is perhaps best known for being part of gatherings at the cemetery, where we acknowledge death as part of life. How wonderful to be part of a gathering that celebrated the land and its abundance through music, dancing, food, laughter and the joy of being together. To weave the DeathCare Collective into such a joyful celebration was a marvelous way of celebrating life.

Thank you to everyone who felt moved to donate. Your generosity helps sustain the Collective and enables us to keep showing up for our community, doing work that is meaningful to us. Thank you also to Kairn for asking for donations on our behalf, Bryan for the QR raven, and to all of those Deborah thanked who helped make the festival so delightful.

A beautiful tribute to life, land and community.

Thank you, Deborah.
