Whether you are beginning your T’ai Chi journey, returning to a practice you've set aside, or looking to deepen your understanding, this immersive T’ai Chi Ch’uan Workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn from one of North America's most respected and experienced teachers.
Throughout the workshop, participants will learn and review the complete Short Yang Form of T’ai Chi Ch’uan as taught by Grandmaster Cheng Man-Ch'ing. Designed for practitioners of a variety of experience levels, the workshop offers the chance to refine technique, deepen understanding, reconnect with your practice, and share the experience with others in a welcoming and supportive environment.
A highlight of the workshop is the daily 1½-hour silent morning practice, held outdoors on Judyth's deck overlooking the beautiful Salish Sea (weather permitting). These peaceful sessions include:
30 minutes of seated meditation
30 minutes of Qi Gong
30 minutes of T’ai Chi Ch’uan
Practiced together in silence and surrounded by nature, these mornings offer a unique opportunity to slow down, quiet the mind, and experience the stillness at the heart of T’ai Chi. It's a truly beautiful way to begin each day.
Judyth Weaver received authorization to teach T’ai Chi Ch’uan from Grandmaster Cheng Man-Ch'ing's Shr Jung Center for Culture and the Arts in 1971. She was the first U.S. student of Benjamin Pang Jeng Lo, Grandmaster Cheng's foremost disciple.
For more than five decades, Judyth has taught throughout North America and around the world, always emphasizing the authenticity, purity, and simplicity of the Short Yang Form. Her teaching encourages self-help, relaxation, and the harmonious coordination of body, mind, and spirit.
In 1974, Judyth founded the T’ai Chi Ch’uan program at Naropa Institute (now Naropa University), helping introduce this ancient practice to generations of students. Her thoughtful and accessible approach presents T’ai Chi not simply as an exercise, but as an integral way of life—one that is available and beneficial to people of all ages and abilities.
Whether your goal is to improve balance and coordination, reduce stress, reconnect with your practice, or simply spend time immersed in mindful movement in a spectacular natural setting, this workshop offers an enriching experience for both body and mind.
