A heartfelt thank you to the Cortes Island Community Foundation for supporting the Bringing Death Home event through its Grant-in-Aid program. Your generosity made it possible for the DeathCare Collective to welcome our community together on June 25 for an evening of connection, conversation, and learning.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us, to the many hands that helped make the evening possible, and to Dr. Tamara MacIntyre for travelling from Victoria to share her wisdom and compassion. It was wonderful to come together and share a bowl of soup, thoughtful conversation, and an inspiring presentation.
As Yvonne Kipp so beautifully expressed:
"Thank you. I was so grateful to be part of the audience the other evening. It truly felt like a milestone for the DeathCare Collective and a testament to the dedication and care they have brought to this work and community. Dr. Tamara MacIntyre shared such heart and wisdom, and when Rick spoke there was a palpable sense of support, gratitude, and shared understanding in the room. It felt like a meaningful moment in our collective journey."
Thank you, Cortes Island Community Foundation, for all you do to support and strengthen our community.
