Friends of Cortes Island

Friends of Cortes Island invites you to join Misty Isles Adventures and local naturalist George Sirk for a spirited foray to “Secret Shelf”, a lively intertidal habitat not far from our southern Cortes Island shoreline.
Off the beaten path, colourfully vibrant in layered bio-diversity, this is a chance to explore an amazingly rich cross section of marine life. Informed and gentle encounters with Mollusks, Whelks, Bi-valves, Uni-valves, Sea Stars, Urchins, Sea Cucumber and more can be expected.
Interpretation will be multifaceted, both shore based, and in the water. Participants are welcome to bring snorkeling gear to join in on the exploration with crew, and share discoveries with our shipmates on shore.
This is a fresh and unique opportunity to get involved with a truly remarkable marine zone, with local guides, aboard Cortes Island’s favourite schooner. 100% of the proceeds from this voyage go directly to Friends of Cortes Island (huge gratitude to Misty Isles)!
Date: Mon 29th June 11am-5pm
Cost: $210. Payment taken in advance
