Dance Temple - Solstice Sun
Friday June 19 with ConnieQ
Join us in community and connection supporting your embodiment and inspiration through ecstatic dance and cacao this summer solstice.
We begin the evening in circle at 7:00, with a cacao ritual facilitated by Tanya. Please email her at blossomschocolategmail.com if you want to participate in this part of the evening. The cost for this is $10 and is separate from Dance Temple entry
At 7:30-9:00 we move into ecstatic dance facilitated by ConnieQ, a regular DJ for Dance Temples from Victoria to Campbell River and many places in between. You are invited to join us as we dance for mindfulness, for fun, for healthy movement, for release, for inspiration and whatever moves us as we come alive within ourselves. $15-$25, accompanied children free
At Mansons Hall
ConnieQ (she/her) serves you up a sonic feast of delicious downtempo & grindy dubstep, multi-flavoured house, high vibe edm, flowing chants and world beats to move those dancing feets. Expect sprinkles of funk, disco, swing, retro flashbacks and more until closing with a didgeridoo sound journey. Ecstatic dance is one of Connie’s loves in life for embodiment, self expression and discovery and she is grateful to share this mindful movement medicine with dance floors and out of doors wherever she goes.
Cacao Circle with Tanya - Deepening into circle song.
Finding the inner sound as a way to open the heart.
Using our intentions and emotions to open up our voices.
The circle songs are meant to open us to a new understanding of how we are creating our experiences.
Through gratitude and prayer we soften and empower ourselves to change our belief systems.
All ages, all genders, all bodies, and all parts of YOU are welcome.
Regular Temple Guidelines:
1. Move however you wish
2. No talking on the dance floor
3. Respect yourself and one another
Dance Temple is an alcohol-free and scent-free space. Please also refrain from phones and outdoor shoes.
The facilitators of Dance Temple hold a strong intention to honour movement and dance as an essential and powerful expression of self and connection to others. We acknowledge the healing and creative nature of movement and recognize that fun, play and humour are vital to this practice.
Please contact connieaquaylegmail.com if you are interested in helping out with the event in exchange for free admission.
No one turned away for lack of funds.
