Anam Cara began as a quirky post-retirement project to create a place for our family and friends to play, explore, and feel the magic of Cortes. It has become our greatest love as we tend the land, and our greatest challenge as we attempt to grow things on a mostly unfenced property, with deer as part of it all.

Highlights include a Richard Andrews gazebo in the middle of a triple Celtic spiral labyrinth, an unlined marsh/seasonal pond experiment, and the Efflugent Way, a meditative path through the wood with 108 altars scattered about. Come see what we’re up to and decide whether we’re crazy or inspired.

Cortes Island Museum invites you to the Creative Spaces: Garden and Studio Tour!
