The deadline to apply for the 2026 Dr. Emily Ellingsen Memorial Bursary is this Sunday, May 31. If you or someone you know is heading into post-secondary education and has ties to Cortes Island, don't let this opportunity slip by.

This year, three bursaries of $1,500 each are available: two from the Dr. Emily Ellingsen Memorial Bursary and one through the Cortes Island Academy.

You are eligible if you are:
Attending post-secondary education, and
Schooled on Cortes Island for at least 3 years, or homeschooled on Cortes, or
a graduate of the Cortes Island Academy Program

These bursaries have supported Cortes students every year since 2010/2011, and they carry on her love for this community and her belief in the value of education.
