Join the Museum at these great events coming in May!

Exhibition Opening WILD CORTES
Our usual Earth Day, April 22, opening of a new exhibit at Wild Cortes is moved to the beginning of May. More details coming soon. The exhibit is curated by the Cortes Island School, a new partner of the Cortes Wild! partnership. So, yes, this is exciting! Stay tuned for more information.

SATURDAY, May 2, at the Museum, 9 a.m.
Bird Walk & Talk (and Spot!) with George Sirk!

Come along for a delightful two- to three-hour adventure exploring wonderful nearby birding spots,
Bring snacks, water, and comfortable shoes to enjoy the day.
Bring your cell phone with the Merlin app, if you have it.
Binoculars, a small notebook, and bird books can enhance your experience.
Children are very welcome, provided they are supervised.

Cortes Island Newcomers Open House

Whether you’re new to Cortes Island, or you’ve been here forever but never made it into the Museum & Archives – we’ve got you covered!
Meet other newcomers and chat with long-time Islanders.
Explore behind the scenes – tour our Museum’s artifact and archives collections.
Don’t be shy – everyone is welcome!
You might even win the door prize!

All welcome! Around Cortes Island
Meet at the Museum at 9 a.m, or at Seavista Road at 9:30 a.m.
Both groups will travel together
Carpooling encouraged

Shining Spirit: The Musical Journey of Jamyang Yeshi

Karen McDiarmid will present her movie from Tibet!
Proceeds will be split between the Museum and a Tibetan Children’s Village charity.

Two-day Kintsugi workshop with Yuka Morino
