Everyone is welcome to meet for the DeathCare Collective Monthly Community Meeting on Wednesday, Apr 15 2:00 - 3:30 pm in the Pioneer Room of the Mansons Hall.
Our meeting topic this Wednesday is Together in the End. In this heartfelt presentation, Fawn Baron and Ann Mortifee share the story of the final days, deaths, and natural burial of their dear friends, John and Kristen. They will speak to the remarkable timing of their deaths—just hours apart—the intentional choice to leave the hospital and come home, and the deep circle of community that gathered around them. It is a moving reflection on love, mystery, and the power of collective care at the end of life.
The DeathCare Collective integrates death as part of community life by initiating conversations, providing education, and encouraging people to prepare for end-of-life. We also empower, guide, and support the practice and process of caring for our own dead and dying, in community.
Our meetings are structured with a time for optional sharing, an educational presentation, comments and reflections, and an update about projects in our community.
