WILD CORTESAre you 17–30 years old and looking for engaging work in natural history this summer? Wild Cortes is hiring a Curatorial Assistant/Host to assist with mounts, displays and interpretation this summer season. Located at Linnaea Education Centre, 1255 Seaford Road, Wild Cortes is the off-site learning centre and EcoLab of the Cortes Museum and Archives Society. The wage for this position is $23.00/hour for a 30-hour work week starting from mid-June until the end of August.
We are looking for a science-minded, hands-on, self-reliant and friendly person with a desire to learn about taxidermy, species at risk and the natural history of Cortes Island. Computer skills are required. Applicants should be comfortable working with animal specimens.

MUSEUM HOST/INTERPRETERAre you looking for a great job this summer? Are you interested in sharing knowledge about Cortes Island with visitors, learning about and assisting with the Museum’s exhibitions and programs, and providing customer service in our Museum Shop? The Cortes Island Museum & Archives Society is hiring a seasonal Host/Interpreter for our busiest time of year. Throughout the summer months, the Museum buzzes as visitors seek information, explore the exhibitions, and attend special events.
We are looking for a mature, friendly, self-reliant person (17–30 years of age). This position runs from mid-June through the end of August, with a potential extension to the end of September, depending on the applicant’s availability. The job is 35 hrs/week at $23.00/hr. Training will be provided.

• Wage & Hours: $23.00/hour, 35 hours/week
• Position: Welcome visitors, share information about exhibitions and programs, and provide customer service at our Visitor Info booth and shop. The work setting is relaxed and lively, offering an excellent opportunity to learn about museums and local history, meet people, and get involved in special events. Training and mentorship are provided.
