You are all welcome to meet with us on Wednesday, Jan 21st, 2:00 - 3:30 pm in the Pioneer Room of the Mansons Hall.

Our meeting topic this Wednesday is Exploring the Tradition and Beauty of Shrouds. Lindsay Langdale and Emma Tius will talk about shrouds —simple cloths used to wrap the body before burial—which have been part of burial traditions for thousands of years. Found across cultures and faiths, they honour dignity, equality, and the journey beyond life. As natural and eco-friendly burials grow, shrouding is resurfacing as a gentle, sustainable choice. Join us to learn more about this timeless practice—and perhaps even explore creating a meaningful shroud for yourself.

The DeathCare Collective integrates death as part of life in our community by initiating conversations, providing education, and encouraging people to prepare for end-of-life. We also empower, guide, and support the practice and process of caring for our own dead and dying, in community.

Our meetings are structured with a time for optional sharing, an educational presentation, comments and reflections, and an update about projects in our community. Visit our website, islanddeathcare.ca.
