COMING TO CORTES ISLAND — PET FIRST AID TRAINING

We (The Pet Trifecta) are honoured to be bringing Pet First Aid training to Cortes Island — a truly special, remote community where caring for animals often means relying on each other when help is far away.

January 17th, 2026
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Linnaea Farm, Lakeview Room
$100/Person

On Cortes Island, the closest veterinary care can mean two ferry trips — and beginning February 2026, ferry service will be shut down for upgrades.

That reality makes one thing very clear:
Pet first aid isn't optional here — it's essential.

When emergencies happen and a vet isn't immediately accessible, the actions taken in the first minutes can truly be the difference between life and loss.

This class is designed to give island residents the confidence and skills to act when there may be no other option.

A Special Partnership
This class is offered in partnership with Autumn’s Aid Autumn Barrett-Morgan has taken on the empowering role of being an Animal First Aid Supporter for the community. She has been practicing and expanding her years of training and skills in Animal First Aid and is currently training in Animal Herbalism. She has also been working with local veterinarians to find ways to better prepare for the possibilities of animal emergencies on the island.

Autumn is passionate about animal care and recognizes that building first aid knowledge across the island strengthens the safety net for all pets and the people who love them. The more of us that have pet first aid skills, the better prepared we all are to support our animals and each other to respond with confidence! Thus, The Pet Trifecta is coming to the island!
