In the 2024 Vital Signs Report by the Cortes Island Community Foundation, it was revealed that 19.5% of our residents don’t have laundry machines at home. With the only laundromat being a 30 km round trip from Mansons, people living on the south end of Cortes have trouble accessing this essential service.

Seeing this need, The Housing Society, Women’s Centre and Health Centre have been working together to create a laundry and shower facility in Mansons to be made available to Cortes residents in need of these services.
