“If every single person who has liked you in your lifetime were to light up on a map, it
would create the most glitteringly beautiful network you could imagine. Throw in the
strangers you’ve been kind to, the people you’ve made laugh, or inspired along the way,
and that star-bright web of you would be an impressive sight to behold...”

( excerpt from “YOU” by Donna Ashworth)

Longtime Cortes Island Resident John Stogrin (“Stogie”) passed away peacefully in Hospice Care at
Evergreen Seniors Home in Campbell River on November29th at the age of 71.
Best friend, Partner, Lover, Mentor, Master Builder, Treeplanter, Silviculturist, Firefighter, Jack of all
Trades, Finder of Pine Mushrooms and Four Leafed Clover, John enriched each of the many lives that
he touched.
He helped selflessly and inspired others to help themselves. He loved children and was always ready to
spoil and teach. He carried dog treats in his pockets for his four legged friends and sunflower seeds for
his beloved chickadees.
With a twinkle in his eyes John gave, loved and fought always with a positive attitude until the end.

There will be a celebration of life at a future date for those whose life he touched
