Since our beginnings in 2019, we have been continually moved by the generosity, creativity, and kindness of this community. Time and again, you’ve shown that Cortes Islanders know how to come together — in celebration, in challenge, and in grief. Your support is what makes this sacred death work possible.
We support our community in preparing for end-of-life through conversation and education. We help loved ones care for their own dying and deceased—offering guidance, empowerment, and assistance from diagnosis through death and after death—making home-based, holistic care more accessible.
As our skills and expertise have grown and the scope of our services has expanded, so too have the demands on our volunteer team. While we’ve been fortunate to secure project-specific grants, we are now in real need of operational funding to sustain the work that keeps our community-supported model thriving.
As you consider your end-of-year donations, we invite you to support the DeathCare Collective and help ensure this vital, community-held work. Our goal is to raise $25,000.
We are deeply grateful for offerings of any amount. To contribute:
? E-transfer: moneystewardislanddeathcare.ca
?? Mail: Island Death Care Society, PO Box 313, Mansons Landing, BC V0P 1K0
? Tax-deductible receipts: Visit islanddeathcare.ca for instructions.
Thank you for helping Cortes be a place where we care for our own — in life and in death.
